How to Enable Root user on MacOS Sierra

It is quite simple to turn on Root user under MacOS Sierra. Just take the following steps.

  1. From MacOS Sierra screen, launch “Directory Utility”
  2. Click on the “clock” at the bottom left corner, you then need to enter your admin password to unlock.
  3. Drop down the “Edit menu” and select “Enable Root User”.
  4. You then will  be asked for the root password twice.
  5. Done! The Root user is enabled on your Mac
